Ty Funderburk '16 Recruiting Profile

I desire to attend a school where I will have the opportunity to attain a high-quality education and play a competitive level of collegiate lacrosse. I am a very hardworking, dedicated student and player. I would like to play on a team where I can make an immediate impact and prove myself worthy of a starting position.

Since beginning high school in 2012, I have achieved several personal accomplishments. Most significantly:

- Starting Attackman on my Varsity high school team as a sophomore (2014)

- CIF San Diego Section Division 1 Champions (Carlsbad High School - 2014)

- All-League Honorable Mention (2014)

- All-League 2nd Team (2015)

- 2015 Offense MVP

- National Honor Society and California Scholarship Federation Member

- Scholar Athlete

- U-T San Diego's All-Academic Team (2014-2015)

I aspire to achieve similar success while in college and look forward to new challenges both in the classroom and on the field.

I have been Ty Funderburk's lacrosse coach since he was a freshman and for the last couple years, I've watched him exceed expectations on and off the field.

I immediately experienced Ty's hard work ethic when he sought out individual training sessions before his first season. His determination to always improve his game and make the team better are assets a coach wants every player to have. I can give him a new skill to work on one day and see improvement the next day.

On top of a solid work ethic, Ty is an excellent attackman. He has the knack to get open and ability to always finish plays. When it's passed to him in front of the goal, we add one to the scoreboard. Not only is he an excellent finisher but understands opposing defenses. He has the ability to create opportunities off a dodge and the field vision to find open teammates.

In short, Ty has earned a reputation as a hard-working, trustworthy individual who strives to excel. He responds with courage when challenged to produce his best. I highly recommend Ty Funderburk. He will be a huge addition to any team.
