Personal Statement

Coaches,   I have been playing competitive hockey since age 4.  Thru the years I have mostly played on travel hockey teams ( Muskegon Chiefs, walker hawks, Michigan nationals.)  I have joined the local teams in our area to challenge myself to become a leader on these teams.

I feel I have accomplished a lot over these years as I conduct myself to be a positive impact player both on and off the ice.  Several years I have been asked to be captain of the team and also assistant captain.  I feel the players in which I have had the pleasure of playing with over the years have been able to depend on me both on and off the ice.  I have made several friendships with these kids that has lasted for years.  Although now we are on opposing high school teams, we all enjoy the competition of competing against each other. The past couple years I have been following directions from my head coach Eric Sikkenge, to try to get in front of scouts to try to get my name and show off my hockey talent.  I have attended the Michigan high school excellence programs, Michigan selects tryout which I made it to the second callback, this past year I made the team west Michigan for the Meijers state games, we took the bronze metal, also this past summer I was invited to tryout for the USHL Muskegon lumberjacks.

Year 2014-2015 I made Team Michigan and played in the CCM invitational in Minnesota, also I played on Team West in Meijer Olympics where we won the GOLD,  I also played in the MDHL in which I made the elite team that played in AAA tournaments representing the elite HS players from the MDHL, the final tournament was again played in Minnesota CCM international tournament , where I got to play against Czech Rep, Russia, Minnesota, etc,  it was a great experience.  This HS season I broke the school record as a defenseman  scoring 49 total points , 18 goals, 31 assists and 149 SOG, at the end of season I was voted as most valuable player, most defensive player, earned OK conference first team, ALL STATE first team, voted to the MiCHIGAN HS Coaches vote DREAM TEAM 1 of 5 players in all of MIchigan HS hockey.  I am every proud of that honor.  Locally I was choosen as one of the most athletic in Muskegon and attended a showcase to be honored with a few other west side HS athletes.  Just recently I was chosen by Mlive as Hockey player of the year.

I am looking to play Junior Hockey after HS.  I look forward to getting the chance to skate for you this spring.

I feel I will be a great benefit to your hockey team and I hope I get the chance to be able to show you my talent and great personality and strong leadership.

After several reviews of other NAHL, NA 3HL, GMHL, USHL teams this past summer, I have choosen to join the DAUPHIN KINGS in Manitoba junior hockey league, I will begin my journey this September, where I look forward to gaining great knowledge of the game and build my strength.  Please feel free to visit my journey on DAuphin kings web site.

My season in Dauphin was great, I experienced a lot and learned a lot while playing in this junior league.

As I look at my next year /last year in the juniors I looked for a junior league that will help promote me to the next level.  As I strive for a college scholarship with an NCAA school, I have had the great fortune to make the team in the NAHL playing for the Bismarck Bobcats.

November 2016 i was traded to Johnstown Tomahawks , for two forwards, as i begin my journey in Johnstown i look forward to gain more strength and knowledge of the game. also i look forward to the journey of life i am able to experience.

I look forward to this season, to again expand my experience and strengthen my hockey skills as I continue to improve.

I look forward to talking to your college in the near future.  Thanks for reviewing my profile.

Thank you for your time

Brandon #2 Johnstown Tomahawks- NAHL
