Foster Kenton III '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'11" Native American Senior from Hawthorne, NV attending Mineral County High School. I have been playing golf for the past 4 years and have always played completive sports, from Baseball and Basketball to Horseshoes. I am looking to attend a collage with a competitive golf team. I do whatever it is my coach asks to make me a better golfer. Sometimes he has me practice weird shots and do odd drills but I still do them. I do very well academically, finishing in the top of my class since the fourth grade and I have never missed a day of school. When I set a goal for myself it if very difficult to move me from that path. I have a never quite attitude. For the past three summers I have been traveling 260 miles round trip to the Reno NV area to complete in the Northern Nevada Junior Golf program. Since my parents both work this has been a great sacrifice for everyone in my family. In the past two years I finished first in two tournaments and placed in six others, shooting a 65 the league low tournament score for 18 holes. With these wins I qualified to play in the Hogan's Cup for the past two years in Portland OR a very prestigious Tournament and something I will always remember. Hawthorne is a very small town with a 9 hole golf course that is my refuge. When all the kids in my High School are hung over I can be found at the course working on my game so i can get out of here and make something of my life. I know there is something out there for me after High School.
