Personal Statement
My name is Mark Reid Henderson JR, but my friends call me Reid. I am a 6'1", 167 pound Senior at Kadena High School in Okinawa, Japan. My low round is a 71 for 18 holes at Banyan Tree Golf Course and my low 9 hole score is a 35. I also have a 71 at Taiyo Golf Club at which i won the Red, White, and Blue tournament.
I've been playing Golf for three and a half years. I have been one of the top two players and have been chosen for the all district team all 4 years at my High School, and have been co-captain and team captain.
I feel that I can offer a sense of leadership because I have been a captain on my football, baseball, basketball, and now golf teams, and I have won championships and gone undefeated in most of them. I also will work as hard as possible to become a better player, not only for me but the team. It is my dream to one day play in college and get a wonderful education.
I don't really have a preference on where I got to college, because I have moved around so much with my parents being in the military so it wouldn't really matter to me. I am mostly looking for a Smaller D1 or D2 school, with an academic level that will challenge my knowledge. I don't really have a preference on whether its religous or not, i just want to go to a college, play golf, and make a difference.
I am hoping to study something in the health field such as health and wellness, or something within sports medicine.
My realistic athletic goals are to play at least 3 years if possible on the golf team and make a name for myself at the highest competition level I can to better myself and team.
