June 2014Personal Statement
I am a 2015 graduate from Notre Dame High School (Sherman Oaks) in Greater Los Angeles. I am a 3-time winner on the Southern California PGA Junior Tour, along with 5 Top-10 finishes. In May 2014, I went wire-to-wire, shooting 73-75 to win the Mission League Championship and earn League MVP honors in one of the most competitive conferences in California.
I have a +0.2 USGA Handicap and carry a 3.81 GPA heading into my senior year of high school. I have no idea what I want to study in college, however, I know that I absolutely want to play collegiate golf at a great program and for a great coach, challenge myself academically, and choose a school that is the best all-around fit for me.
Golf is my passion, and I pursue it everyday, getting better any which way I can in order to reach my goals. I'm extremely dedicated not only to myself, but to my teams. I've played every single match on our Varsity squad since my freshman year and have only missed 1 practice in my 5 years of team competition, all while keeping up with my studies. I have also been named Co-Captain for my upcoming senior year.
I'm different from many competitive golfers because I am mostly self-taught, having developed my game over the last five years at the local municipal course near my house. Each of the last two years, I have shaved off 2 strokes off of my game, turning myself into a scratch golfer. I have been, and will continue to be, constantly improving and I haven't come close to peaking yet.
I will always give every effort I possibly can to any coach, teammate, or shot because that's what I demand of myself, and I believe that is what the game demands from its players. I never give up, I never count myself out, and I always compete.
