Connor Dyches '16 Recruiting Profile

I am a very long guard with a 6'6" wingspan who stays composed no matter what pressure is thrown at me. Since I'm not the biggest guy on the court, I have to make up for it with outstanding defense and my speed and athleticism. I think I can play at the highest levels as long as I keep working hard and when given the opportunity I can prove it. I am a very hard worker both on and off the court. I am a 3.987 GPA student/athlete. The high GPA and development of my basketball skills are goals that I work on everyday. My family is very important to me. They are my best advisors and sometimes my hardest critics. The family support also helps me with my academic and basketball goals. I play 100% no matter where I’m playing, whether it is backyard basketball or in a game situation. I always give my best effort to face any challenge. I cannot quit or give up, that is not me. My teachers/coaches have expressed both to my parents and myself the strong leadership skills I have. My basketball coach has given me a great leadership roll as a team captain and play facilitator on the court from my shooting guard position. He has asked me to work at local youth camps he holds. I get to referee, score keep and instruct at the youth level. I feel this gives me more experience as a player and I am able to give back to the others the things I have learned and continue to develop. I put a lot of time into my athletics, like I said I am a hard worker, not only am I in the gym shooting everyday, but I am in the weight room too. I also put a lot of time into my academics, my over all cumulative GPA is 3.987. I spread out my time very wisely, from lifting to shooting, to keeping my grades high and working. I work extremely hard to keep my body healthy, eating right and not over lifting. I would like to continue my basketball career into college, I will continue to work hard and also improve my game.
