Scholarship is very important in my family. Me being the youngest of four children, my mother has always encouraged me to do my best in school. My oldest sister went on to earn a law degree. In addition to their cosmetology licenses, my other sisters have also attended college. Education is a way to better myself and I don’t take for granted the opportunities presented to me. In my spare time I assist children at our community center in completing their homework. I also took time to play games with them and encourage them to do their best. I am a member of the National Honor Society. In addition, I am a captain of Mifflin High School basketball team. Last year I received 2nd team all-city, 2nd team all-district, and the Principal's Award from Mifflin. I currently carry a grade point average of 3.25. My major is currently undecided. I would love the opportunity to go to college and set myself apart from the average American. I can only have one chance to succeed. My father passed when i was twelve. I want to succeed to make my father proud of me. What better opportunity than the one I have now right in front of me?
