~~Jayson started basketball at an early age and fell in love with the game. He has played on select basketball teams since he was in Kindergarten. He always played on the teams with players that were 1-2 grade levels higher.
Entering into his freshman year he played in over 40 AAU games went to a few showcase events and has developed a love for the game and a tremendous work ethic to want to get better in all aspects of the game. His freshman year in High School his team won the GWOC (Greater Midwest Ohio Conference) title. He started every game. Jayson was voted most consistent and a very important part of the team.
Prior to his sophomore year in HS he played in over 50 AAU games, racking up numerous 20+ points games. He averaged 15 PPG, his high was 28. He has a high shooting percentage and has a very high basketball IQ, he rarely makes mistakes with the basketball. He was asked to play on one of the top AAU teams in our area and travel to Indianapolis for the Adidas Invitational and to Florida for AAU nationals where his team made it to the final 4. As a sophomore he has started every game and averaged 12ppg, his high was 23., there is a tremendous upside to his abilities as a basketball player.
Going into his junior year Jayson had a 3.6 GPA and during the AAU season he played with the Ohio Stars and racked up a number of games where he scored over 20 Points and has played in over 50 games. He continues to get better, faster and stronger. He is expected to take on more of a leadership role as well as a scorer.
Jayson is entering his senior year with a 3.7 GPA, over the spring and summer he achieved a lot of goals. Now that AAU basketball has concluded for the 2014 year, he had a really good AAU season playing with the Ohio Stars. He reached a new scoring plateau, scoring over 30 points in 4 games and over 25 in numerous games. Jayson has played in a number of Leagues: HS Summer League, Nike Summer League in Columbus where he was selected as an allstar. He has been to numerous camps: HS Camp, HS Summer tournaments, Blue Chip, where he was the 3 point champion and on the allstar team, 5-star camp where he was selected as an all-star and selected to attend the high profile camp in Chicago .He has been to a number of colleges for 1-4 day camps: Lincoln Memorial, Marietta, Charleston, Fairmont State, Ohio Dominican and Findlay just to name a few and at each location he played really well and made a name for himself as a prospect. Over the spring, summer and fall he has played in over 60 games. He has been working with a trainer twice a week (Enhance U) to improve in quickness, strength and confidence. His HS coaches expect him to have a great season this year.
Jayson is a very intelligent student and takes his grades very seriously. He works hard on the court as well as off the court. Jayson has had a lot of success and it comes from his hard work, dedication and love of the game. He has the ability to learn from mistakes and is very coachable. Jayson has played for a lot of teams and no matter what team he plays for he always earns the respect and trust of his teammates and coaches.
Jayson is a nice young man with a high basketball IQ and a bright future.
