Owen McLeod '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Owen McLeod and I am a 6'2, 170 lb senior from Bishop Ahr High School in New Jersey with a 4.0 GPA. I love competition, get excited about excelling in school, getting A+ grades and competing in basketball to win.

As a child, my parents exposed me to various professions from which I could choose until one day, my uncle Mark put on shorts to play basketball in our driveway, and revealed his prosthetic leg. It intrigued me to see his level of intensity to play the game with one leg. I wanted to be the doctor whom made it possible for him to play. From that day on, I strived to excel in the classroom and on the court. In the classroom, I have been a 4.0 student since my freshman year in high school currently taking AP classes in Chemistry and Statistics to further my aspirations. I consistently work on my game to become better, with basketball workouts 3 times a week focusing on ball handling and shooting off the dribble, as well as weight training 3 times a week focusing on strength training and agility to add to my current game play which continues to excel.

Through hard work and dedication, my dream is to combine my love for the game and academics to put me in a position to achieve my aspirations of being a doctor.
