Jair Rodgers '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jair Rodgers and I am a 5'11, 155 pound combo guard.  I have played point guard for most of my life.  Last year as a freshman, I played shooting guard and had a lot of success at that position. My team ranked as high as 6th in the country and finished the season 26-6.  I am currently in my sophomore year at Ancilla College and will be handling the ball more as the point. I believe this will show that I can be effective at both the 1 and 2 position. 

Coming out of high school, I was not on many coaches radar due to only playing two years of varsity basketball. Ancilla College offered me a scholarship towards the end of my season and I decided to go there to improve my game because I truly believe I have yet to reach my full potential. As a freshman, I averaged 16.6 ppg, 3.1 rbs, 1.9 ast, and led the team in steals with 1.5. I broke my schools single season 3pt record with 109 3's and shot 43.5 percent on 3's. Lastly I finished 5th in division 2 juco in 3 pointers made.

Basketball has taught me teamwork, goal-setting, competitiveness, perseverance, and time management.  All of these attributes will be useful in my future career.  My life goal is to become a sports agent or work for a professional sports team.

I would like to play at a school where I can have an immediate impact on the court.  A program that will encourage my development as a player and as a person.
