Mitchell Osterlund '16 Recruiting Profile

While undecided in the major I want to pursue in college, I am a strong student looking for a college that will help me achieve both high academics as well as excel in basketball.  During high school I  only participated in the sport of basketball so I am not a multi-sport athlete, but I believe what sets me apart is my hard-work ethic.  I spend each fall participating in a strength, speed and agility program called Titus and spend the spring and summer participating in a basketball skills program called GameSpeed where we work on fundamentals such as ball handling, defense, shooting, passing and in-game situations.  I have applied this same work ethic to my academic career.  I am in AP and Honors courses and have a 3.5 unweighted GPA and a 4.0 weighted GPA.  I will bring this work ethic to college to grow as a player, student and teammate.  In my spare time, I am very active in my church.  I attend an annual week-long mission trip to repair homes in an poor, rural community in Florida, I volunteer in many activities at my church and am active in the church high school youth group.
