2015: I sincerely hope you will give me an opportunity to play for you and your school. I wish to attend college to pursue a career in nuclear physics, which means I plan to get my Ph.D. Obviously this degree choice requires someone who can stay the course, who can accept the immense challenges that will be presented by the coursework necessary to obtain this degree, who will commit the time to learn, absorb and demonstrate the knowledge attained in these classes and one who recognizes the rewards that can be achieved when all of the above are followed. These are characteristics that I will also bring to the basketball court. I am a quiet person who respects authority, listens attentively, follows direction and above all, believes in the power of a strong team unit.
2016 - UPDATE: While life does not always go the way you planned, you should still take the opportunity to learn and grow from it! I was offered - and accepted - an academic scholarship in the summer of 2014 to play basketball. However, several weeks before leaving for school, I made the decision to turn it down and stay home to help out my mom while she was dealing with some difficult personal circumstances. I am now in college full time and paying my own way, but still dream of playing basketball. I will be classified as a sophomore in August 2016 and know I can bring the same maturity, commitment, dedication and clarity of decision making to the right team if you will give me the opportunity.
