I still remember the day I went to battle with my mother over wanting to play football. "I don't want my precious little baby getting hurt out there," she said. I never knew sports in general would have such an impact on my life. Stepping on that field for the first time, I never knew my life would change the way it did. 9 years later, I still wonder why I didn't start earlier. I love football, with a passion. It's one of the reason's I get out of bed in the morning. Whether it be a stress-reliever or just for fun I love being apart of something special. When I look across the line and see my brothers something clicks in my mind telling me to go all out.
Sports, along with my family and God have given me a chance to change myself as a person not just a student-athlete. I used to be an unfocused kid and used sports and God to take a look at myself and change what needed to be changed. I use football, basketball and lacrosse as outlets and they teach me leadership skills, hard work and dedication, and teamwork. These skills and qualities have benefitted me in the classroom where I am attempting to keep a 3.9 or higher GPA through all 4 years of high school. Academics have been a huge part in my athletic career and obviously if I want to take sports to the collegiate level I need to keep them high. All my life I have lived under the rule "bad grades, no sports." I live the life of a true student-athlete and want to continue this journey. In conclusion, I am a person who wants to get better in every facet of sports and school. I look to challenge myself and achieve greatness.
