It is my goal to excel in college, both in the classroom and on the field. I plan to obtain a degree that will support my aspiration to be a health care professional. In addition to excelling in academics as I have in the past, I also want to continue to excel in sports. Through the years, I have learned to strive for excellence and work hard whether as an Eagle Scout, in academics, or as a leader on the ball field, a volunteer, or leader in the community. I am a leader on and off the field including serving in Youth Leadership programs for my city and my county as well as representing at Boys State. On the field, I have the ability to bring the team together in times of adversity and I am always the first to motivate and celebrate others successes and the team victories. The next generation is clearly looking up to me and I strive to be a good example for them to follow. Through my successes and failures, I have learned how important it is to be a man of character and integrity. I was so grateful when my schoolmates recently recognized my character traits with Who’s Who and Citizenship awards. I have been humbly honored with many recognition including Portico’s 2016 feature of “25 Students Who Will Change the World”, National Honor Society, numerous Academic Awards, and Sports Awards both those decided by coaches and by my fellow teammates. As a life-long learner, it is my goal to continue to grow and develop to realize my leadership potential in every area of my life. If given the opportunity, I desire to apply theses proven skills and abilities to collegiate sports.
