Justin Mitts '17 Recruiting Profile

I started playing sports when I was five years old.  I've played baseball, track, basketball, but no sport ever clicked with me like football did. I have a strong passion for the game and it's something I'll love forever.  

My greatest achievement of my high school career was my Junior year when I scored the game winning touchdown on a scoop and score from 25 yards out.  What made me grow more as a student athlete was my freshman year when I wasn't starting at the beginning of the season.  I was trying everything to become a starter but nothing was working.  Finally, the d- line coach asked me if I wanted to try d-end and I said yeah. First game I started was against Damien where I got 12 tackles 2 sacks and a pass deflection.  That showed me never to give up and never settle.  Ever since then I've pushed myself 10x harder and I won't settle for mediocre.
