My name is Edward Schue Hatcher and I am extremely motivated to play college Football. My Father, two uncles, and several cousins have all played college football and a number of them went on to play in the NFL. I am excited to follow in the my Father and Uncles footsteps and playing Football at a high level. My parents along with my extended family have instilled in me discipline, structure, perseverance, and a strong work ethic, which I have tried to apply to my faith, academics, and football. I have worked extremely hard to balance my education along with athletics and maintain a 3.7 GPA while taking honor and AP classes. When I have difficulty in a class I will seek tutors, meet with my teachers at lunch and after school, pray, or whatever it takes to make sure that I understand the material and get the type of grades I want.
From my Sophomore year into my Junior year I worked extremely hard to gain weight, increase my strength, and improve my speed and agility. I gained 26 pounds, increased all of my lifts between 40 to 50 pounds, and significantly increased my speed. So when I suffered an injury shortly before the season, I was very disappointed and frustrated. However, I did not allow my disappointment from stopping me from the goal of rehabbing my injury. As a result I was able to get back three weeks earlier than what the Doctors had estimated it would take for me to recover. I am continuing to work hard to put myself in a position to be dominant my senior year. I know I can play Football at the college level and that I will put the time and work necessary to be successful.
