Hello, my name is Paige Ash and I'm a senior at Mountain Lakes High School, playing goalkeeper on both my school's varsity team, my club's U19 team, and in the NEFHA Adult league. I ended the season with 202 saves (I believe a new school record) giving me an amazing save percentage of .837 and was awarded 2nd team All Conference!
Not only do I take field hockey seriously, but I also take my education seriously and am proud to report that my GPA continues on an upward slope (I was just awarded my high schools prestigious, "Most Improved Student" award) with my Junior year GPA being 3.345 - while taking a rigorous schedule and I've kept up the pace senior year and am taking honors English and AP Government! My high school is known as one of the best and most competitive in the state and unlike most high schools, does NOT inflate grades.
My ACT score when superscored earned me a Composite Score of 29, putting me in the top 93% of the country - my English portion was a 30 (top 92%), my reading was a 32 (top 95%) my combined English/Writing was a 28 (top 90%) and my Math was a 26 (top 84%).
My coaches have told me I am a very hard-working, coachable player and my Futures goalkeeper coach continued to train me after Futures ended because of my hard work and the potential she saw. I love constructive criticism as it helps me improve my game and is allowing me to become the best goalkeeper possible (remember that .831 save percentage I mentioned earlier). For the remainder of this year, I'll be playing on my high school varsity team, my club team, the Futures program, and continuing to play in the NEFHA Men’s and Women's Division to increase my skills and abilities and help prepare me for collegiate field hockey.
In the near future, my goal is to be a successful college athlete and student at whichever school I decide to go to. As a serious athlete, I want to go to the college that will best help me achieve athletic excellence while also allowing me to get a quality education so when I leave, I can have a career in the business end of the fashion industry.
