Luke Stageberg '16 Recruiting Profile

I am excited about the opportunity to play baseball at the collegiate level.  My school choice will be based on academics and baseball equally.  I feel very confident in my academic ability based on my current GPA of 4.82, and my class rank of 6 in a very academically competitive 4A high school.  Math and science are my strongest subjects.  I just took the SAT and scored a perfect 800 on the math portion, so engineering or a related field is important in my school choice.  Regarding baseball, I am equally confident in my abilities. As a sophomore, I started every game at second base, and hit second in the line up.  I had the second highest batting average on our team at .361 with 26 hits on the season.  My fielding percentage was .968 and turned 11 double plays.  As a junior, I started every game at shortstop and hit second in the line up.  I finished my junior season with a .333 batting average and a .966 feilding percentage. At the conclusion of our High School season, I was selected to the All Region team for 4A baseball in both my sophmore and junior seasons.   On my 2014 summer team, Diamond Devils 16U Black, I lead the team with a batting average of .424 (wood bat tournaments). Currently, on my 2015 summer team, Diamond Devils 17U Black, I am playing middle infield and 3rd base, hitting .400 through 3 tournaments. Overall, I am a strong defensive infielder that can hit for a consistent average, with good speed (6.7 - 60).
