My name is Mason Adolfs, I have been playing baseball since I was four years old. My goal is to receive a bachelor's degree in engineering while playing collegiate baseball. Upon completing my bachelor's degree I wish to further my education and receive a master's degree in either mechanical or aerospace engineering with the goal of being employed by NASA. Throughout my high school career I have challenged myself in the classroom by taking many AP and Honors courses while also playing baseball for Lake Orion High School and for the Lakes Area Dodgers: a travel team that plays games against numerous JUCO (including Wabash Valley and Rend Lake College) and D3 college teams in the fall, and highly competitive tournaments in Florida, Ohio, and Illinois in the summer. I have played against college teams since my Freshman year of high school, I believe having experienced college competition for the past four fall seasons has made me a better and more confident ball payer. This experience, along with my hard work ethic on the field, in the classroom, and through my extra curricular activities sets me apart from other ballplayers. I am the president of the Science National Honor Society at my school and have maintained a 4.13 GPA while practicing, playing and training for baseball year round-- This not only demonstrates my leadership abilities, but also reveals my strong work ethic and time management skills. These characteristics and experiences leave me confident that I have what it takes to achieve my academic goals while pursuing my dream of playing collegiate baseball.
