Personal Statement

Hi, I'm Riley Bennett. I am a 6'1", 185 lb middle infielder (primarily 2nd base) that can also play 3rd. I’m a solid defensive player with quick hands, good hand/eye coordination and solid mechanics. I have a head for the game with good instincts. I see the ball well and am gaining power at the plate every day.

I grew up playing baseball year-round in Arizona and have 9 years of competitive baseball experience. I'm the starting 2nd baseman for my High School Varsity team (Sophomore and Junior years) and am looking forward to my Senior season. I play for the Livingston Hurricanes travel team and during this past summer (2014), I led the team in total hits and had one of the top 3 batting averages.

I’m always looking for opportunities to improve, talking with my coaches and teammates, seeking additional training and working independently. Every day I work toward improving my game (increasing strength, speed and agility, hitting and defense). I'm one of the first players to the field and one of the last to leave. I have a great work ethic on and off the field. I understand the importance of a good education and to play baseball at the next level, I know being a good student is important. My dream to play baseball has fueled me to give it a 110% both on the field and in the classroom.

I'm interested in pursuing a degree in Biology and am dedicated to doing whatever it takes to play collegiate baseball (successfully).

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
