Dalton Dopson '17 Recruiting Profile

I made up my mind at an early age to develop an outstanding work ethic in all areas in my life.  I knew this was a "must" in order to secure my chances of furthering my baseball career past the high school level.  I seem to excel when faced with tough challenges, whether this is on the baseball diamond or in the classroom.  I thrive on being challenged and/or being told by the "naysayers" of the world that I have unreasonable goals.  I use that negativity from others to drive myself to work harder and to prove myself.  My parents have taught me to never settle for being mediocre; in order to do this, I must set my goals high.  I am not a "showy" athlete...  As past coaches have stated, I "show up every day with my lunch pail ready to work..."   I am there to take on whatever role the coaches feel I should have in order to better the team's chances of success.  I believe a team becomes brothers once united.  The team works together in every aspect.  You must work FOR EACH OTHER rather than against your teammates.  I am a 3.9 GPA student enrolled in honors courses which reveals that I also strive to excel in the classroom as well as on the diamond. It is my dream to further my baseball career to the college level and will do whatever it takes to overcome any obstacles in my path to achieve this goal.
